17th September 2002
Since
a lot of people have been asking what's happening with Voorhees at the moment, I
thought I'd take the opportunity to clear a few things up. After returning home from
our US tour in November 2001, the four members of the band that aren't Ian decided
to leave, as we'd decided that the time had come for us to break away and do our
own thing.
So... Me,
Arms, James & Steve have formed a new band called THE
HORROR, with Andy from
IMBALANCE on the mic. We recorded a five song demo entitled "Your Every Nightmare
Coming True" pretty much immediately. Then we recorded 14 songs in May for "First Blood" - a 10" mini-LP to be released on
Chainsaw Safety Records. Work is now underway on writing a second 10" which
will be called "The Fear, The Terror, The Horror..." to be released by
our friends at Coalition Records.
If you want to book us
a gig,
a copy of the demo, or any other info, email us.
In
other Voorhees related news... Sean Readman, Michael Gillham & Paul
Rugman-Jones (who all played on the "Spilling Blood Without Reason"
LP) have a new band called THE HATERS. They play nasty DWARVES style stuff. If you want to book them to play a gig or any further info, email Michael.
It's
probably worth a mention that me, Steve and James from Voorhees are still
playing in the Sex Maniacs, with Heysi from the Mercy Suite on bass. We recorded
our debut LP, "Mean As Hell" in June, to be released sometime before
the end of 2002 on Eccentric Man Records.
That's
all for now, until next time... do one!
Dave
